Last night beloved west coast burger chain Umami Burger opened their doors for a friends and family preview at their first ever New York City location. (Read more about it in the NY Times article here )The two story bar and burger joint located in the west village at 6th Ave. and 10th St. hosted about one hundred people. Among them was Champagne producer and "trade tattoo" enthusiast Jérôme Legras of Legras & Haas, a family run winery opened in 1991. Though the winery has only been operating for a little over twenty years, Jérôme's family traces its roots back over seven generations of grape growers. He commemorated that lineage with the rendering of an antique Venetian wine glass he owns and the crossed corkscrews.
